About Hedgerow Rose, the Shop
Welcome! If you’re new to my jewelry, then you may be interested to learn of it’s origins and perhaps peruse some of my earlier designs. If you’re an Etsy shopper then you may also like to visit my shop over there, too. But more on that in a bit.
Beginnings
This adventure in jewelry-making began in 2008 when I opened an Etsy shop to sell off some extra art prints I had left over from a show but it wasn’t until months later, when I made a necklace for my daughter, I realized how much I missed jewelry making (I dabbled a bit in college.) Before I knew it, I was indulging in my love of estate-style jewelry and began what I called “The Estate Collection” and 1 year later, I resigned from my teaching position to run my business full time. I made thousands of Estate Collection pieces before I finally got to the point where I felt like I’d hit a wall creatively and needed to try new things. I dug out some old metalsmithing tools, invested in a few more, and started teaching myself some metalsmithing techniques and expand my line to include fine as well as costume jewelry.
Introducing One-of-a-Kind Pieces
I’ve recently decided to simplify things by offering primarily one-of-a-kind gemstone, silver and gold jewelry as well as simple crystal earrings while also limiting my intake of custom work. Having hundreds of items for sale (and doing so in two shops, no less) while also managing custom orders was making me go a little bonkers. This new direction allows me to simplify my process while giving me more time to invest in learning this new craft.
Eco-Friendly
I’m still devoted to making my shop as earth-friendly as possible. My precious metals come from recycled sources and my gemstones are fair trade, conflict free and eco-friendly. My packaging is sourced from recycled materials as well, and my shop labels are printed on recycled paper using soy ink. There is always room for improvement but I think this is a good place to start.

Hi Lara, i have fallen in love with you work. You are so talented.
May i inquire about a ring you have listed which has been sold. It is the Chatham Emerald Antique Style Engagement Ring (1889). I was hoping that although this was a one off ring if i could commission another one made to my measurements?
I am not getting married, however i do turn 30 this month and would really love something that i can wear and also have as something to pass on to my children – this ring is simply perfect.
I look forward to your response
Kind regards
Emma

Thank you Leah!
Hello,
I was just curious to know when the Forget-Me-Not – 14kt Gold Floral Wedding Stacking Ring would be available again? Your jewelry is very beautiful and I am looking forward to purchasing the Forget-Me-Not Floral stacking ring when it is available again. I have been waiting for quite sometime for this item to become available again and I do understand that your jewelry is handmade and will take some time. I have been looking everywhere for a beautiful forget me not ring, as yours, to wear to represent my boyfriend that past away almost 6years ago. Forget me knots have beautiful meaning behind them and I want the ring to be able to represent my undying memory and love for him. It would mean a lot to me if I were able to wear your ring.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.
Rachel
Hi Rachel–I hope to have the supplies to start taking orders again by the end of April. Thanks for asking!
I stumbled across your site while looking for ideas on “upcycling” some odd pieces of the Family Silver. I LOVE your demitasse and garnet earrings!! They are beautiful. I hope you don’t mind by I shared your link on Facebook.
I was actually thinking before seeing them how lovely the salter spoons would look as earrings. So my thoughts are in the right direction. I was wondering if you think it’s possible to take an antique “berry” soon and create a cuff style bracelet out of it? I don’t believe it’s sterling – as it isn’t marked – but it is from England and quite old. It’s so ornate and pretty from bowl to tip. I’m curious about how to go about finding an artisan who I could take a few of the pieces to. Do you have any thoughts, ideas or suggestions? Again – LOVE your site! Beautiful work! Thanks – Laurie
Hi Laurie, gosh you are so sweet! Thank you very much for your kind words about my shop and I am super flattered that you shared the link.
I don’t personally craft pieces from materials belonging to the customer (just in case something went wrong) but I’m sure if you do a search on Etsy you can find an artisan who can do that for you. Or…I’ll bet you can make something yourself–I just did a Google search for “making silverware jewelry” and a bunch of tutorials popped up. That might be a fun craft project! Thanks again and good luck!
