Our Trip To Sammis Greenhouse

Every growing season my husband and I make several trips to Sammis Greenhouse which is positively HUGE and has a wonderful selection of annuals and perennials. I was really excited for them to open this spring which they did just a couple of days ago and since my husband had the day off and it’s gorgeous out, we thought it would be a nice trip. Many of the plants were still tiny, but manalive there were thousands and thousands of them and in a couple of weeks it’s going to be a riot of color! I was very behaved and only came home with some begonias (the coloring looks just like our Piñata rose!), a peppermint plant, a Mountain Bluet, a Fuschia and a Bacopa. I always enjoy their little pond which is jade green and filled to capacity with some very happy froggies and this time around I became acquainted with their rooster who had a lot to say, evidently. This afternoon we’re building some raised beds for the backyard. What a great day!

I don’t think we’ve gone to this one together…you may be thinking of Foxhollow? This one is much, MUCH bigger!
