(A collection of some of the pink roses in our garden. For rose names, hover over photo. Tip: ‘Jacques Cartier’ & ‘Marchesa Boccella’ are actually the same rose. Sneaky, sneaky.)

There’s one pink beauty blooming in a pot here as well and it’s called ‘Wife of Bath’. I don’t see it in the beautiful collection you’re showing here. Do you have it? You have such a big collection of roses. I only have three so far, just started this year, well, four actually but the fourth one(Waltz Time) just doesn’t do it. Do you know discovering your blog was the final push I needed to start with growing roses in containers? Our garden is far too shadowy to grow roses in and I had thought about putting roses in pots on the terrace but wasn’t quite sure if that would work. So, thanks for convincing me! Now all I have to do is wait and see if the roses will survive the winters here.
    Bye,
    Marian

Hi Marian! I’m truly honored that I was able to give you that push you needed. Growing roses is such a lifelong rewarding experience! I do not grow ‘Wife of Bath’ but hmmm, maybe I should. ;) I hope you’re enjoying your summer….can you believe it’s already almost August?

Hi Lara – Beautiful roses and such lovely photos (as usual!!). I couldn’t get the hovering to work, but I really like the 5th rose from the top. Hope you’re having a great day. Louise

Thank you Louise! :) I’m so sorry the hovering wasn’t working, but that 5th rose you admired is ‘Alnwick Castle’ (a David Austin). It’s a pretty rose, but a bit susceptible to black spot in our garden. I’ll be posting more about it soon. So glad you stopped by!

Gorgeous! Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! Ahh, rose envy – I dream of roses just like these! I somehow got sidetracked this year (sale prices are too tempting) and ended up with 3 nearly red roses instead of the pinks (peach & yellow) I had planned on.

Haha! You don’t have to tell me about being sidetracked–that’s how I ended up with the majority of what’s in our garden. But most have been happy surprises. But I don’t think you can ever have too many roses, don’t you agree?

How does Gertrude Jekyll do for you since? (since you just live a state over :) …)

Haha! I understand. Welp, our G.J. was looking quite ravishing last summer, but this summer, mmm not so much. She may get the boot come this fall. Interestingly, her parent, ‘Comte de Chambord’ looks healthier.
