Introduced as a banded rose and now in it’s second season in our garden, ‘Tuscany Superb’ began to bloom for us last week-and what a color! Rich burgundy/purplish blossoms glowed like jewels atop a tidy little shrub (still in it’s 3 gallon container at the time of these photos but transplanted to the garden last weekend.) I adore Gallicas so I am continuing to add more to our garden and so far I am thrilled with ‘Tuscany Superb’. A once-blooming rose, I wonder if I will have any more flowering this spring or if those few blossoms were it. Not as fast growing as one of my other Gallicas, ‘Georges Vibert’, I guess I will have to wait and see how much new growth it produces this season in preparation for next year’s roses.
