WHAT YOU’LL DISCOVER HERE…
so much more than roses
It’s no secret that roses are the star here–in fact they inspired the name of my blog and business! This website has over 500 original posts many of which are dedicated to growing roses. But it also hosts my online shop of handmade jewelry and luxe handpoured candles as well as informational posts about beekeeping, chickens, allotment gardening, pollinator gardens and more!

Timeline of Hedgerow Rose
2015
In 2015, Jesse and I became empty nesters and decided to move to Laurel Park, North Carolina for a career opportunity. My posts during this time will reflect the renovation work on our 1930’s cottage and the new garden design of our mountaintop home.
2021
In 2021 Jesse and I moved yet again to a fixer-upper in an historic neighborhood–a place we used to dream about owning a home in someday and which we finally got our foot in the door. We now have a wooded garden at our new home and an allotment in town where we grow vegetables, fruit and flowers for cutting.
2024
And that brings us to the present…
Currently we are happily re-settled back in our hometown of State College, PA just a few miles from where this all began. Thank you for following along our journey!
2010
The beginning…
Hedgerow Rose began in 2010 and since then has evolved to not only contain my posts about our gardens but also host my shopping site when I shifted away from Etsy and Big Cartel. The posts from this period will revolve around the garden we tended as renters in State College, PA.
2018
In 2018, Jesse was offered a different position at his company and we decided to pack it up and leave North Carolina. The posts from this time period are fewer as I was more active on Instagram. During this period, the garden went from a bare suburban lawn to a lush, wildlife-friendly oasis.
