It won’t be long now before the flowering shrubs and trees here in the northeast begin putting on their spring show and I can hardly wait! Here is a pretty Fothergilla x intermedia ‘Blue Shadow’ I photographed last April at the Arboretum. That morning I was more interested in the flowering crabapples and lilacs and only shot these photos as an afterthought as I was walking back to the car. It wasn’t until I got home and looked back at the pictures I took that I was able to appreciate it’s subtle beauty. Do you grow Fothergilla in your garden?
