Bluebird Frenzy at the Birdbath
I wrote this really meaningful post for today, about reflecting on the past 3 years and looking forward, yadda yadda yadda, but really, these bluebirds are way cooler. The fact is, I haven’t seen a single bluebird since we moved here (even though I know they’re around), but this morning a small flock of them descended on our birdbath for the first time and I was in heaven! (Side note, if you’re going to do anything in your garden to attract songbirds, put out a year-round fresh water supply. Just my opinion. ;)). As I write this, there is still a small frenzy going on out there with goldfinches, juncos, purple finches, tufted titmouse (mice?), chickadees, nuthatches, sparrows, and of course bluebirds. It almost feels like spring! What a great way to ring in the new year!
Apologies for the picture quality! These were taken through the sliding glass door…
I have never seen a live bluebird – what a thrill to see so many in your birdbath! Happy New Year!
Aren’t they just beautiful…I think bluebirds are my favorite! We have them here year round in Western Pennsylvania. I just love them!
