Celebration of Roses, January 19: Nymphenburg
Link to HMF: Nymphenburg
Acquired From: High Country Roses
Own Root? Yes
Would I Grow Again? No
Notes: I love the look of ‘Nymphenburg’, a rose that embodies the freshness of spring. However, I have chosen to leave it behind in our NC garden because: 1, it never repeated for me, and 2, as soon as it stopped blooming it would get blackspot and remain completely defoliated for the rest of the season. If it had repeated or if the blackspot wasn’t an issue I probably would have kept it. I’m on the hunt for a rose with a similar appearance in the flowers. Anyone reading this have any firsthand experience with ‘The Lady of the Lake‘?
I have Lady of the Lake and really like it. She’s in a very shady spot but still had good blooms. I do plan to move her into more sun once we finish our backyard project. Pretty arching canes, and still has lots of leaves in the dead of winter here in zone 7.
Thank you soooo much for weighing in on this one! You’ve helped me decide that I’m going to be purchasing one for spring. I love the look of those flowers. Yay!
