Magpie Rings No. 23, 24 and 25

Years ago I was making “Magpie Necklaces” which were one-of-a-kind pieces that utilized twiddlybits such as antique buttons, skeleton keys and sparkly rhinestones–objects you might see tucked away in a magpie’s nest. Each necklace was numbered and unique. I thought, why not start making Magpie Rings? So I whipped together these three seen above which pick up where the necklaces left off and are stamped accordingly. They are constructed with vintage china pieces (the blue willow was a piece from my great-grandmother’s childhood tea set), vintage brass findings (to simulate the twigs and leaves that one might find in a nest) recycled sterling, freshwater pearls, amethyst, rhodolite garnet and moonstone. I had so much fun with these that I could keep going and going, but I think I’ll wait and see if people even like them first! (Available here…)
