Storm Clouds

Cumulonimbus clouds rising like massive plumes of smoke

A lovely summer thunderstorm arrived yesterday afternoon and after weeks of temps in the high 90’s and hardly any rain it was very welcome. My husband, spaniel and I crowded around the living room window letting the wind blow fat raindrops in our faces while we watched the light show, whooping and hollering for every particularly loud thunderclap. (Our kitty hid underneath the stairs.)

As soon as we felt it was safe, we put the dog on her leash and took her for her evening walk even though it was still slightly drizzling; we all just wanted to get outside. I snapped these photos of the storm clouds which were still billowing up all around us. They were awe inspiring, to say the least.
