Maple Blossoms and Bleeding Heart
There is just something wonderful about chartreuse and hot pink!
(By the by, another flora combo which uses this color scheme effectively is Lady’s Mantle and pink roses. But watch out, Lady’s Mantle, or Alchemilla mollis, can reseed itself like crazy.)
What variety of maple tree produces the blossoms you show in the pictures?
I’m pretty certain that these blossoms (collected from a walk through the neighborhood, not my garden) were from the Acer platanoides or ‘Norway Maple’. PS: this species is considered invasive: http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/forestry/invasivetutorial/norway_maple.htm
