Cottage Garden Flowers ~ Penstemon
This is the flowering perennial Penstemon ‘Red Rocks’. Doesn’t it remind you of a diminutive foxglove? It occupies a part sun nook in our garden beginning it’s blooms in early summer and continuing for weeks. It only grows to a height of about 2 feet and the dainty leaves stay evergreen during our winters. (According to the plant label it’s hardy to zones 4-9.) The little bees just love this plant and it’s fun to watch them busy themselves among the blossoms. I think Penstemon is lovely combined with Campanula and is perfect for a cottage style garden.
Oh – these are beautiful. Now you have inspired me to get some!
I forgot to say where I got them–Lowes. But! I think ours is big enough that it can be divided this spring so I’ll give you some with the sedum.
Hi there just wanted to give you a quick heads up.
The words in your content seem to be running off the
screen in Ie. I’m not sure if this is a format issue or something to do with web browser compatibility but I thought I’d post to let you know.
The style and design look great though! Hope you get the issue solved soon.
Thanks
Thanks for letting me know! I’m not seeing that in either Safari or Firefox. Can you tell me which browser you’re using?
Oops, I just saw that you said Explorer–OK I’ll check it out, thanks!
