Notes: Something so strange about ‘South Africa’ was how much it bloomed even when there was literally not a single leaf left on the plant from blackspot defoliation. It was unstoppable! For that reason, and because it was already in a container, I brought it with me to the new garden to give it another go. (It’s worth mentioning that last summer was the rainiest on record and perhaps a sunnier, drier summer in 2019-PLEASE-will do wonders for this little rose.)
