A Clutch of Songbird Rings (and a whole lot of tomfoolery)
I just finished a clutch of sterling, 14kt gold, turquoise and variscite “songbird rings” which I’ll be listing in the shop soonish. My inspiration, of course, are the little birds returning to their nesting grounds this spring, which, even though it happens every year, still fills me with such complete and unbridled joy. OK, so perhaps I’m anthropomorphising a touch (I tend to do that), but their sense of place, and home really speaks to me on some deep level. Hearing their songs in the spring announcing their return makes my heart feel like it’s swelling in my chest like The Grinch at the end of the movie. Does anyone else feel that way? Anyways, I thought these rings would be a nice way to celebrate the return to greener and sunnier days.
And to be completely honest with you, while I love taking photos of other things, I really loathe photographing my own work. Eva and Jasper must have sensed my distress because suddenly they were both up in my face for attention and I couldn’t help but laugh. So what started out as a very serious photo shoot devolved into a lot of tomfoolery…
Oh PS: This little guy and his pals showed up today. Appropriate, dontcha think?
Absolutely beautiful rings, and I love the creative display in the nest.
Thank you Dawn! 🙂
