There really is no place like home…

As promised, here are a few pictures from my birthday day-o-fun! Jesse booked us a “Very Romantic Lion” package (I kid you not–that was the name) at The Nittany Lion Inn which included lots of treats like champagne and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us in our room (would you judge me if I told you I ignored the champagne but ate the strawberries?) a jacuzzi tub that I practically had to pole-vault to get into, a romantic dinner in our own private room in the restaurant, and breakfast in bed (more strawberries on a Belgian waffle for me). We practically had the hotel to ourselves, at least it felt that way, and we roamed the halls being quite silly, Jesse was amused by finding that Shaq Attack! was included in their library right next to the old Dickens novels, and me taking so many photos of their ginormous chandelier that the kind lady at the front desk shouted out across the lobby, “Would you like me to dim the lights for you so you can get a better shot?” Whoops, I thought I was being incognito. Since it was a beautiful full moon we walked across campus (freezing our buns off) so we could see the Christmas lights in town and of course I took some blurry shots of the snowflake twinkles. It was lovely. But I’ll let you in on a little secret, that night we wanted to go home back to our own bed! Which just goes to show that it doesn’t matter how fancy pants a mini-vacation can be, there really is no place like home.

  1. Great photos! The two of you look so cute together. Glad you had a wonderful time! And does’t that say a lot about your home that you would rather be there (me, too, really).

  2. Lovely!! I’m a homebody, too, so I understand wanting to be in your own bed. It looks to be a really beautiful place, though!

  3. Thanks Ladies! 🙂
