Kind of a hodge podge
Kind of a hodge podge of stuff to tell you about, top to bottom:
◆ A new Storybook Ring is in the shop. This time with a teal-blue enameled Amanita muscaria. {EDIT: Can you believe how far these have come? These rings started out as these earrings back in 2008 and then this ring in 2009. How things have changed!}
◆ The very popular gold signet rings are available again for custom purchase. (I don’t know for how long because it depends on how busy I get this spring/summer with the garden!) And, even though I said I was done buying new crystals, I just simply could not resist that gorgeous minty-blue color so I snapped a handful up and made a few pairs of “Tide Pool” earrings with them. I’ll be wearing mine when we take our vacation this summer.
◆ Lady of the Wood is a new ring (if you follow my IG feed then you saw the work-in-progress) featuring a really, I mean really pretty labradorite. My favorite bit, though, is the 14kt gold pebble on the bottom of the band. I love little details.
◆ Some new geometric earrings: Fine (pure) silver rectangle studs and enameled copper rhombuses I fired in my kiln.
◆ At home it’s all kitties, all the time. We call ourselves “Kitty rich” because there always seems to be one sauntering about. Don’t think we’ve forgotten about our Eva pups. She would make an appearance here but she desperately needs a grooming and I won’t embarrass her until that’s all settled. I am making some enameled dog tags that she will model once she’s looking fancy again.
◆ The crazy low prices on cut flowers at Trader Joes means I have had the luxury of fresh flowers in our house at all times (even during winter). Do you have a T.J’.’s and did you get a chance to pick up some ranunculus?
◆ The stocks that I sowed not long ago have germinated! It never gets old for me–seeing those teeny tiny seed leaves emerging from the soil. It’s a miracle, really.
There’s been a bit of spring cleaning happening in the shop (check out the new look!) and here in the garden. Jesse and I maybe overdid it a little bit last Saturday when the weather was so nice but we simply couldn’t stay inside. Several months of inactivity and twiddling of thumbs and now, all of a sudden, it’s time to get a move on! We have the veggie garden to set up, the compost to order, the roses to prune, the containers to clean, the outdoor furniture to repair, the peas to sow…well, you get the gist. But you will not see me complaining; this is the best time of year!
Wow – what a wonderful mix! I love those rings, well I love all of it! It is amazing how far the idea has grown, and now, no one does anything like yours anymore! Your new site look is awesome too. Someone could shop here forever!
I can see it is time for planting! Thanks for the hodgepodge. (And Lucy looks like she lives in the sun!)
Thanks Mom! Your comments always cheer me up!
